Privacy Policy
Last updated: 1 April 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Jobboarder Ltd ("Jobboarder", "we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, discloses, and protects personal data when you use the Jobboarder platform at jobboarder.com and any job board sites hosted through our service (collectively, the "Service").
By using the Service, you agree to the collection and use of information as described in this policy. If you do not agree, please discontinue use of the Service.
1. Data controller
Jobboarder Ltd is the data controller for personal data processed through the Service. For enquiries about data processing, contact us at legal@jobboarder.com.
2. Information we collect
2.1 Account information
When you create a Jobboarder account, we collect your name, email address, and payment information (processed by our payment provider; we do not store full card details). If you sign up using a third-party authentication provider, we receive your name and email from that provider.
2.2 Job board content
If you operate a job board through Jobboarder, we store the job listings, company profiles, categories, and other content you create or import. This may include company names, job descriptions, salary ranges, and location data.
2.3 Candidate data
If candidates apply to jobs through boards hosted on Jobboarder, we process the data they submit in their application, which may include names, email addresses, CVs, and cover letters. Board operators are joint data controllers for candidate data submitted through their boards.
2.4 Usage data
We automatically collect information about how you interact with the Service, including IP addresses, browser type, pages visited, time spent, referral source, and device information. We use Cloudflare Web Analytics for this purpose, which does not use cookies or track individuals across sites.
2.5 Cookies
We use strictly necessary cookies for authentication and session management. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies. Third-party services integrated with the Service may set their own cookies, subject to their own privacy policies.
3. How we use your information
We process personal data for the following purposes:
- Providing the Service: To operate, maintain, and improve the Jobboarder platform, including hosting job boards, processing job listings, and facilitating applications.
- Account management: To create and manage your account, process payments, and provide customer support.
- Communication: To send transactional emails (account confirmation, billing receipts, service updates) and, with your consent, marketing communications about Jobboarder features and content.
- Security and fraud prevention: To detect, investigate, and prevent fraudulent transactions, abuse, and other harmful activity.
- Legal compliance: To comply with applicable laws, regulations, and legal processes.
- Analytics and improvement: To understand how the Service is used and to develop new features, using aggregated and anonymised data where possible.
4. Legal bases for processing (GDPR)
If you are in the European Economic Area (EEA) or the United Kingdom, we process your personal data on the following legal bases:
- Contract performance: Processing necessary to provide the Service under our Terms of Service.
- Legitimate interests: Processing for our legitimate interests in operating and improving the Service, provided these interests do not override your fundamental rights.
- Consent: Where you have given explicit consent, such as for marketing communications.
- Legal obligation: Where processing is required to comply with a legal obligation.
5. Data sharing and disclosure
We do not sell personal data. We share data only in these circumstances:
- Service providers: With third-party providers who assist in operating the Service (payment processing, email delivery, hosting infrastructure). These providers process data only on our behalf and under contractual obligations to protect it.
- Board operators: Candidate application data is shared with the operator of the job board where the application was submitted. Board operators are responsible for their own use of this data.
- Legal requirements: When required by law, subpoena, or other legal process, or to protect the rights, safety, or property of Jobboarder, our users, or others.
- Business transfers: In connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of all or a portion of our assets, with appropriate notice to affected users.
6. International data transfers
The Service is hosted on Cloudflare's global network. Personal data may be processed in countries outside the EEA and UK. We ensure adequate protection through Cloudflare's compliance with applicable data transfer mechanisms, including Standard Contractual Clauses.
7. Data retention
We retain personal data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. When you delete your account, we delete or anonymise your personal data within 30 days, except where retention is required for legal, accounting, or compliance purposes.
Job listing data is retained for up to 12 months after a listing expires to support analytics and historical reporting for board operators.
8. Your rights
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the following rights regarding your personal data:
- Access: Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
- Correction: Request correction of inaccurate or incomplete data.
- Deletion: Request deletion of your personal data, subject to legal retention requirements.
- Portability: Receive your data in a structured, commonly used, machine-readable format.
- Restriction: Request that we restrict processing of your data in certain circumstances.
- Objection: Object to processing based on legitimate interests.
- Withdraw consent: Where processing is based on consent, withdraw that consent at any time.
To exercise any of these rights, contact us at legal@jobboarder.com. We will respond within 30 days.
9. Data security
We implement appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect personal data, including encryption in transit (TLS), access controls, regular security reviews, and incident response procedures. However, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
10. Children's privacy
The Service is not directed at individuals under the age of 16. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, contact us at legal@jobboarder.com and we will delete it promptly.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the updated policy on our website and, where appropriate, by email. The "Last updated" date at the top indicates the most recent revision.
